Karate boy

Hello everyone, I hope you are all having a nice weekend. It goes by much too quickly, doesn't it?

This card is for my son who has just been promoted at work. I think I often avoid boy's cards but I really enjoyed making this one. Maybe it had something to do with the great sketch and fabulous image.

I thought I'd have a go at distressing. I bought a new distressing tool a couple of weeks ago and this is the first time I've used it. I can see how you might get a bit carried away!

Anyway, onto the card:

My recipe:

Image: Karate Boy by Mo Manning
Coloured with Pro Markers and a touch of Distress Inks
Papers: Boxer by Basic Grey
Cardstock - Coredinations
Silver paper by Hot off the Press
Image: computer generated
Tools: Cuttlebug and Nestabilities Stars
Deckle edged scissors

The stars look black on the photo but they are silver, I promise!

I can enter this card for 2 challenges:
Mo's Digital Challenge - Shades of Grey
Papertake Weekly - Dawny's great sketch

I hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by.

Demure

Hi folks

Just a quick hello tonight - I'm ready for a wee siesta after a mega plate of haggis, tatties and neeps. I love Burns Night; not that I need an excuse for haggis, I can eat it any time.

Our Jack's gone off to Ben More to school camp for a week. I don't know what I'll do with myself. Mind you, I think his mother will miss him as well!

This is one of the stamps that has been in the sale over at Funky Kits. It's one of the ones I've always liked but never got around to buying so when it appeared in the sale it was too good an opportunity to miss. It's one of Elizabeth Bells' designs (as if you didn't already know!). I love her images. This little lady's called "Demure". I've made this card for a very good friend at work who's just had her gall bladder removed, poor soul.

This is my recipe:

Image: Demure by Elizabeth Bell for Sugar Nellie
Coloured with Distress Inks
Papers: My Minds Eye - Wild Asparagus
Cardstock: Coredinations
Ribbon: Anitas
Pearls: Kanban
Brads: Making Memories
Tools: Cuttlebug and Spellbinders Labels
Fiskers Border Punch: Threading Water
Sentiment: Computer generated

I can enter this card for 2 challenges:
Sketch Saturday - it was a lovely sketch
Simon Says Stamp - use punches

The patter of tiny feet

Hi everyone. I hope you are all well. It has been a long time since I posted a card - Mr Mojo had well and truly deserted me then someone asked me to make a couple of cards for them so I thought I better stop being so lazy and get my act together!

This is my first attempt - I've called it "the patter of tiny feet" for want of a better name.

I love this image. It's produced by a company called Dimension Fourth; I'm sure you've heard of them. I've used this stamp over and over and I've never had to stamp it twice, it always comes up really crisp and clear first time. It only cost me about £2.50 so I've had more than my money's worth out of it. Don't you just love that little baby with it's bum sticking up in the air?

I got this sketch from Stampin' for the Weekend and it was such a lovely sketch.

This is my card recipe:

Image: Dimension Fourth - no name on it but it's obviously a baby with balloons
Coloured with Distress Inks
Papers: Lasting Impressions - Petal Pink Plaid (I wish I could have found a challenge for old stuff - I've had these papers for years)
Cardstock - Coredinations
Lace - from stash
Flowers - made up from bits of stash
Pearls - from stash
Sentiment - computer generated
Tools: Cuttlebug and Baby embossing folder

I can enter this card for the following challenges:
Stampin' for the Weekend (the sketch)
Papertake Weekly (Pretty Pink Papertake)
Charisma Cardz Challenges (you can use anything that is new - I've used my new Nesties which I got for Christmas)
Crafty Cardmakers (something new again - the embossing folder is new as well)

That's it. It was a very easy card to make. I hope you like it.
